Early Education Funding (EEF, previously NEF) can also be applied for.

All children are entitled to 15 hours funded childcare per week (38 weeks term time) from the term after their third birthday.
Children born in the period 1 January to 31 March: the start of term beginning on or following 1 April after the child's birthday
Children born in the period 1 April to 31 August: the start of term beginning on or following 1 September after the child's birthday
Children born in the period 1 September to 31 December: the start of term beginning on or following 1 January after the child's birthday

Working parents can now access an additional 15 hours per week (total 30 hours per week), term time (or stretched to 22 hours all year, by applying online HERE

You may also be entitled to use Tax Free Childcare.  You can get up to £500 every 3 months (£2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. More information can be found HERE.  You cannot currently claim Tax Free Childcare if you are in receipt of Tax Credits. 

Herefordshire Council also offer funding for 2 year old children, with specific criteria.  More information can be found HERE

From April 2024 the funding is being extended 2 year old children of working parents, who can access 15 hours per week, then from September 2024 for 9 month old children of working parents.  This applies from the term after their qualifying birthday and is subject to parent application online HERE
